A
unique island left solely alone in the Indian ocean. This
classic island is bequeathed with nature's elegant wonders
and no other Maldivian island can match its exquisite
natural beauty. The
azure sky and the stupendous deep blue sea obey the
tranquility and serenity of a natures best-kept secret,
Fuvamula, the third largest island in the Maldives. It is
located in the southern side of the equatorial channel,
between Addu atoll to its south and Huvadhoo atoll to its
north, at 017S latitude, 73 26E longitude. It is a singular
island, rising high above the floor of the indian ocean. The
island is of corralling origin on a slowly subsidizing
volcanic ridge. Unlike other islands it is not part of an
atoll. Thus it is not part of a cluster of islands typically
protected by lagoons. Fuvahmulah has got an exceptional abundance
of natural resources. Still and all it lacks nothing in
natural beauty. Its
inhabitants have exceptional talents in boat construction
and navigation, but their endeavors are frequently thwarted
by the dangers of high waves, narrow jagged reefs,
undertows, perilous currents, rapidly changeable equatorial
weather sea conditions; and location give it exceptionally
potential for orderly growth and as a southern hub for the
nations development. more...
